Are you posting at 12am on Facebook, after a long day? Well you're probably not getting the traffic you want when everyone is asleep. For each outlet there are different peak times where your message will be optimized for the most views!
For Twitter, the best time to post is between 1-3pm. Probably because people are on their lunch breaks and browing stories. They are basically bored, and trying to see what's trending. Facebook's peak hours are also similar 1-4pm, but people spend more time on Facebook and find it more engaging.
The best time to post a picture on Instagram or post on Linkedin is between 5-6pm because people are slowly leaving work, the...
Blogs started in 1997, as weblog, but it's now taken off. Every client I work with has a blog. When I frist started Sheer Concepts in 2011, I knew I wanted to help market small businesses. I focused on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, and helped them with branded materials, and graphic design services. After the first year, I realized along with my clients that marketing a small business was now a new atmosphere. Social media posts had to be frequent and unique, graphics had to come in multiple formats to fit (Instagram, Facebook, Email Marketing, and print!). How is a small business supposed to keep up? We can help!
What can you learn from art? A lot. Afterall, the original graphic designers were artists, and the first marketers were also artists. As artists comment on society, one artist really speaks to me when it comes to running a business. Edgar Degas, a 19th century French painter obesssed with ballerinas, can teach us a lot about the effort of starting and maintaining a business.
Here are 3 things we can learn from a Degas painting of a ballerina:
1. DEDICATION- Whether is how Degas painted 100s of ballerina without losing his motivation, he depicted the ballerinas as dedicated to the study of ballet. Ballet takes lots of patience, perseverence, and commitment. Balle...
Was Andy Warhol right? Warhol was a 1960s American Pop-Artist. He is famous for his Marliyn Monroe screen prints and Campbell Soup Paintings. His artistic commentary on pop culture can still be seen every where and is extremely relevant today. His quote, "In the future everybody will be world famous for 15 minutes." Sounds like a preminition to social media.
Warhol knew a lot about the advertising world, as he started his career in New York City designing advertisements and magazine covers. He was bascailly a graphic designer, using branding and art to drive sales.
Warhol clearly saw the writing on the wall. He saw the influence Hollywood had on socie...

Facebook Ads are perfect for generating traffic to your website, viral marketing, and getting more page likes! With Facebook Ads you can easily hone in on your target demographic, set up a budget, and watch how the clicks increase.
Recently, we've set up a few campaigns for our clients. One is targetted for more page likes, while the other is to increase clicks to the website. One is product specific, while the other is more general. Ideally, you should be as specific as possible, in order to not waste money on weak clicks.
One of the great things about Facebook Ads are the demographics. Users can select from - age, zip codes, interests, marital status, educa...

It is incredible how technology and innovation is changing our world. Recently, I came across an incredible product by Microsoft called Hololens. This will inspire you and perhaps be a little creepy, but imagine the possibilities. Product designers will love this! Plus there could be many social media capablilites. It's like FaceTime meets Photoshop meets steroids!
Architects, interior designers, specialists, and even your friends can create holograms in your space in real time to show you what a 3D product would look like. Imagine all the services that could be offered from afar and brought to your own home or office!
We are all visual creatures. Sometimes COLORS speak louder than words, and as the famous quote goes.. a picture is worth a thousand words!
In our visiual culture, you can gain tremendous engagement on your website and on social media, with compelling graphics. Brand your graphics with your logo, use fonts and colors from your website. You can showcase your message and your product to create an engageming and compelling statement.
Don't know where to start?
1. Use a photo-editing software. We like Adobe Photoshop.
2. Find a product or quote that is relevant to your brand.
I recently spoke to an SEO guru working with large brands on boosting their Google ranking. Isn't that what we all want? To be #1 on Google?
Here are 5 things I learned that will keep your business relevant in the Google world.
1. Google Analytics - Track. Analyze. Repeat. - If you have not yet installed Google Analytics on your website. Get started. It's pretty much copy/pasting code into your website, and then you can start stalking... wait, TRACKING your visitors. Are they coming from South Africa? New York City? Are they spending 5 hours on your site or 5 seconds? All of this information will make you a better marketer and help you understand your customers.
